American Friends of Peace of Mind
What is Peace of Mind?
American Friends of Peace of Mind is a registered 501C3 with the purpose of supporting the Metiv Israel Psychotrauma Center generally and its Peace of Mind project for IDF veterans in particular.
Peace of Mind provides time and space for IDF combat veterans to process their combat experiences in a supportive environment, including a week spent hosted in a Jewish community abroad.
The transition to civilian life is never simple. Most IDF veterans do not suffer from PTSD, yet 80% of Peace of Mind participants experience mild to severe traumatic symptoms.
Run by the Metiv Israel Psychotrauma Center in Jerusalem, Peace of Mind strengthens the emotional and mental wellbeing of IDF veterans, allowing for a healthier transition from military to civilian life.
