Peace of Mind provides time and space for IDF combat veterans to process their combat experiences in a supportive environment, including a week spent hosted in a Jewish community abroad. This May, East Hill will host an entire Peace of Mind group of IDF veterans.
Peace of Mind provides its participants with 65 hours of group counseling, plus individual therapy as needed. Run by the Metiv Israel Psychotrauma Center in Jerusalem, the program strengthens their emotional and mental wellbeing, allowing for a healthier transition from military to civilian life.
The distance from Israel, and support of Jewish communities overseas, plays a key role in creating a safe, quiet, and supportive environment. Through hosting the veterans for the most intense phase of Peace of Mind, Jewish communities play an active role in shaping society by promoting a healthy transition to civilian life.
